We are very close to my cousin Steve and his family - wife Amy and their sons Kai and Lucas. Here they are with Carl on our first Canal trip back in 2010

The now teen Kai may not appreciate me choosing this photo but it always makes me smile & it's his own fault, he would not have a nice one taken!

So when Sky TV had an offer for free (yes free!!) Disneyland Paris park tickets it made sense to ask them if they'd be interested. That year we had another Canal trip with them coming up in August

Yeah 2012 was a busy year for us, we also went to London to celebrate the Queens jubilee, the olympics, Alton Towers, camping at a beer festival to name a few.

The way it worked is you could apply for 2 adult tickets for a specific date. We were surprised to get ours for the date we wanted - the August bank holiday weekend.

We stayed at the Premier inn the night before and had 2 cars this time - guess what!?!?!? Ours didn't break down! so it was Friday 24th we got the ferry around 9ish then travelled on down to Marne La Vallee. This time we stayed outside of the parks at the Adagio Apartments. Our apartment had a double bedroom, a room with bunks then Carl and I had a sofabed in the lounge. It had a free shuttle to the park so on arrival we decided to go and have something to eat in the village and a new tradition was born

From memory I think we may have got the train back as we knew we would have to the following night because we were leaving after the fireworks.

Our free tickets were for Saturday and we were up bright and early to get to Disney Studios for park opening

As you can see it was pouring but we were still having fun

I think we got on almost everything including 5 year old Lucas' first time on tower of terror. He sat between me and Carl and held on tightly throughout. When we got to the end, still sat in darkness I asked him if he enjoyed it.....silence..... Lucas? ....silence.... has he passed out or something!?!? the elevator door opened to show the hugest grin I have ever seen. He loved it. We went to see if he was tall enough for rock n rollercoaster but he was just a little short.

With that it was over to the main park

The plan today was simple - ride as much as possible. We were pretty successful.

Using his Jedi powers on "uncle cole"

a successful day - open to close. We caught the train back and poor young tired Lucas was following us through and all of a sudden the turnstile rotated and he thought he was trapped. Obviously we got him out but not without a few tears.

Back at the apartment we virtually fell into our beds.

The Sunday C and I got up early. Whilst the others were going to have more fun at the parks and had decided to buy tickets for the second day we had decided we wanted to catch the train into Paris.

Our first stop was a bakery to pick up coffee and croissants to have for breakfast in the queue of our first attraction

This was eerie but spectacular

From there we travelled to Les invalides

I will add this was a great time to visit Paris as a lot of these places had a young European citizen rate for people under 26 so Carl got free entry here.

From there we caught the metor over to visit Montmartre

Where we bought a piece of artwork

and then visited a very interesting cemetery

Can you guess where we may have gone for dinner??? If you have read the other TR

you can make an educated guess...

Surprise!

Then we did a sunset river cruise

Before heading to the Arc de Triomphe to catch a late train back. I am fairly confident they were in bed when we got back

Monday was uneventful. We travelled up to Calais for our ferry crossing then onto our homes
