during 2018 we set a new challenge - Alphabet dating. The aim was we would carry out a date every other week taking in turns to plan something new/different with the corresponding letter of the alphabet. We didn't exactly stick to the timings but we had a lot of fun...
A IS FOR...I started and was a little stuck for ideas to get us off the ground 6th January we started with American pancakes and an Argyle match

B is for...This was Carls turn and took place 2nd Jan we went to Taunton for Bowling then returned for Boardwalk Empire Boxset, Burgers, Brownies and Brewdog

C is for... I had booked this date for 8th Feb at the very time we decided we would start this. A Chocolate tasting in Hotel Chocolat for which we had to go to Taunton where we also had Chinese for lunch and coffees

D is for... well this was across an evening and a morning - 8th/9th March - Disney DVDs Dirty Burgers, Dairy Milk, we booked a Disney Cruise! and had a bit of a Duvet day

E is for... We started in the winter so a lot of our early ones were at home. This occurred 23rd March - Enchilladas, Elvis Juice, Easter Egg Brownie Baking, Emperors New Groove, European Ticket to ride, an England game and Espresso Martinis

F is for... Flipping fantastic! This was a date which split across Good Friday and Easter Saturday. First was the Football and a 4-0 win. The following day we caught the Ferry to Mt Edgcumbe with the family where we had fun playing Frisbee golf. Finally it was a Fish n Chip supper. Boy done good!

G is for... Not to be outdone I had planned a weekend away 13th/14th April. We went Glamping in the great outdoors of Gloucestershire, we Geocached, played card games, ate gnocchi and greggs, visited Glastobury brewery en route

H is for... This was another fun one as we were off to the Horse racing 25th April. Carl paid for us both to make so many bets, to begin with I tried to play the odds etc but then I placed a bet because I liked the Jockeys jersey and it is the only bet we won! at least we broke even!

I is for... We started with a trip to the cinema where we enjoyed Ice Cream and watched Infinity War 4th May. We then went to an Italian cooking class where we learnt to make ravioli and Tiramisu

J is for... J was a hard letter. 12th June Carl cooked us Jambalaya and took us to see Jurassic World

K is for... another date for home 22nd June - KFC, Key Lime pie, Korev and Kona whilst we played Killer Bunnies. Later we watched Karate Kid whilst enjoying Kinder eggs

L is for... London! We got a little carried away with the England World cup effort and decided if they got to the final we wanted to watch it in London. That did not happen but we had booked so we made the most of it 15th June, so we went for a long weekend, enjoyed lagers and lattes then went to Planet hollywood for LA Lasagne

M is for... The day after the L date I offered to plan our day for our M date. We played Mini Golf, visited M&M world, Ate Mexican, drank Margaritas and walked miles

N is for... This one lasted the first weekend of August, we went to meet our newest Nephew Henry then stole his brother away for a long weekend where we had Nutella Croissants, went on a Nature walk then when he went to bed we watched some Netflix and enjoyed Nandos

O is for... The sunday we dropped our nephew home and as they live near Oxford it seemed silly not to do our O date - we had Omelettes for breakfast, visited Oxford, listened to Offspring, enjoyed Oreo McFlurries and played Odins Ravens when we returned home

P is for... This one took us to Lundy Island 25th Aug which I had wanted to do for years. We started with a Pancake breakfast and then went on a hunt for Puffins, we enjoyed a picnic and took some pick n mix. We didn't find any Puffins but we did take a lot of Photos.

Q is for... I am not very technically minded so I was very proud of myself for this one. We started with Breakfast Quesadillas then I created a booklet and on each page was a QR code which took carl to a photo or website of our next stop. We went for a hike on the Quantock hills, a picnic of Quiches and Quavers, visited the Quantock Brewery then watched Quentin Tarrantino films with some dinner quesadillas

R is for... This was was also a lot of fun and in our own little town. 15th Sept we went to a Retro gaming arcade, enjoyed some Real ale then home for Ribs and Relaxing in our hot tub

S is for... For S we had a week in Scotland in September where we had a date day, we really enjoyed our segway adventure, the scenery, some sweet treats and a steak dinner with shiraz

T is for... Another local date 29th Sept in street. We went on a themed treasure trail, we had afternoon tea and watched Titanic whilst enjoying some T beers.

U is for... U was a difficult letter, probably my hardest. Eventually I settled for going underground at Wookey hole caves 14th October. En Route we had our Usual McDs breakfast and on our return we had UFO ale, Unicorn cakes and a US style meal whilst watching Up!

V is for... We were back to winter now, 6th Nov, we played Video games, Villainous boardgame, ate Vol au vents, Viscounts, Vienetta and enjoyed a Vital IPA

W is for... 11th Nov we got crafty and made wreaths! we snacked on Wispas and wine gums and for dinner we had beef wellington and whitechapel porters and waffles for desert

X is for... 08/12 Carl took us to the bath Xmas market. We had an Xmassy day with Xmas beers etc

Y is for... This was my last one and on 23rd Dec we made our Christmas Yule log and watched die Hard (Yippee Ki yay...)

Z is for... This one came a little outside of our within a year plan on 16th Jan. We went to Bristol Zoo followed by the Zerodegrees microbrewery follwed by dinner at ZaZa Bazaar

We really loved doing this and trying to out do each other! We are sure we will do it again sometime in the future but perhaps start at a different time of year so some of the letters we had in the winter will fall in the warmer months.
