Prague

For our 8th anniversary we were looking for a quick getaway for a few nights and we settled on Prague.

We booked our flights with Easy Jet From Bristol Sunday 14th January 17:15 arriving 20:15 then back from Prague Thursday 18th January 16:55 - 18:15. I left Carl in charge of the hotel and he selected the Hotel Grandior It was relatively close to the city centre and had a great buffet breakfast with a pianist playing.

On arrival we caught a bus into the city where we located and checked into our hotel. We went for a short walk and for our first drink in the square

15th January

We had booked a 2 day HoHo - this city is very compact and you can easily walk everywhere. I kind of wish we hadn't booked this and saved the money but on the plus side it did make it a little easier to get to the other side of town. We saw as much as we could we headed up to the castle

we then walked down to the town centre

before getting back on the bus

Unfortunately the last scheduled bus never turned up so we walked back

16th January

We hopped on the HoHo and went to the castle again as yesterday a lot of it was closed off we started at the cathedral

We then went through the rest of the grounds

We then went on a hunt for what was described as one of the cheapest bars

We liked the tally system for keeping the tab to pay at the end.

We then headed back to the square where we paid an extortionate amount for some ham

We then decided to book ourselves onto the Anthrapoid tour which took us all over the city and taught us about the Czech republic in the war and ending in the church where the final showdown occured

After we headed to the beer museum for a wide variety of beers

17th January

Our final full day looked something like this

Our final day we did very little other than meander around until we caught the bus back to the airport where we had our first half and half of the trip
