Another gift

Carls mum had won Brittany ferry tickets for 4 and they asked if we would be interested in joining them for a long weekend in Brittany which they booked back in the April.

Thur 20th Sept we drove down to Plymouth where we moved our stuff over to their car before making our way to the ferry port for the over night ferry. We shared a cabin which had 2 bunk beds.

Early the next morning we arrived in Brest

From there we travelled up to Morlaix

We visited Château de Kerjean

and stayed at the Manoir de Coat Amour which was a lovely B&B with very friendly hosts.

I believe that first night we had dinner at the B&B

The following day we spent wandering around Morlaix

we had lunch in the town and after a day of exploring we went and freshened up and changed before having dinner out.

It was a lovely getaway and it was really nice to do something just the 4 of us. We are really overdue doing something like this again!!

One small hiccup... As is the French pastime Brittany ferries workers were striking! instead of travelling west to get our scheduled ferry back to Plymouth we had to drive over 400 miles to get to Calais to get a P&O ferry back to Dover. From that direction our house is actually closest but our car was in Plymouth so we drove down to Plymouth arriving in the early hours of the morning. Carls poor dad had driven all day! from there we picked up the car to drive home, Carl had to as I cannot drive if I am tired. we got home around 4am and had approx 3 hours sleeps before getting up for work!!! Despite that we had a really great time. We must repay them!
